Murder Charge Filed In Connection With Shooting Death In Stamford

A local man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend inside their Stamford apartment in May 2020.

STAMFORD, CT — A 67-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend inside their West Main St. apartment 10 months ago.

Gary Greig was charged on a warrant with murder, and is being held on $1 million bond. He has been in custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections on a firearms charge related to the homicide, according to police.

On May 29, 2020, the Stamford Police Department was notified Greig had stated he had killed his girlfriend, Staci Magazzi, 50. Police responded to an apartment at 182 West Main St. and located Greig and Magazzi, who was dead on the floor. An investigation determined Magazzi had died from a single gunshot wound to her face, police said.
