New Canaan Country School Rocked at Community Celebration

Country School's parents, faculty and staff came out to support the school's "Country School rocks" community celebration and fundraiser.

New Canaan Country School rocked on Saturday, June 5! Parents, faculty and staff came out to support the school’s “Country School Rocks” community celebration and fundraiser. Attendees were treated to a picnic-style gathering on the school’s campus with musical performances by three bands composed of faculty and parent performers along with other musicians.

Upper School Science Teacher Scott Lilley and Lower School Spanish Teacher Sean Robb combined forces as the Air Guitars for the opening act. Parents Ian Lear-Nickum and Mike Suozzi along with other bandmates performed as All Night Thing. During the intermission, guests enjoyed a video produced by parent Alex Leach of Fire Belly Sound. The evening wrapped up with a performance by LiquorCake featuring parent Max Jellinek. The guests joining virtually from home were treated to a special performance by magician and mentalist Ryan Oakes ’93. The event was organized by parent co-chairs Susan Barr, Arlety Bowman, Molly Reilly and Allison Ryan. Corporate sponsors included She La La, Neil Hauck Architects, Claris Construction, Rollin Tod of the Higgins Group, Encon Heating & AC, Camp Playland of New Canaan and Teed & Brown Lawn Care.
