Obituary: Frances Van Dereedt, 101, Of Stamford
She worked as a live-in cook and housekeeper until retirement.

Frances Van Dereedt, age 101, passed away as a result of pancreatic cancer. Born in Slovakia, Frances migrated to New York in her late teens before the war.
She later married John Van Dereedt and lived in White Plains, NY unti the mid 70’s. She worked as a live-in cook and housekeeper until retirement. In 1980 she settled down and lived with her son in Stamford, CT. Frances was a very beloved mother and devout Catholic who enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by a daughter Margaret; a son William, and two grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory located at 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 1st at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT 06901. The interment will immediately follow mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in White Plains, NY.
