Please Clear Snow From Sidewalks, Says Stamford's Mayor Martin
"City ordinance states that snow is required to be removed within 12 hours after snow fall or freezing."

STAMFORD, CT — From the City of Stamford: After yesterday’s storm, Mayor David Martin is reminding residents to clear snow from their sidewalks.
“I know it is cold out there, but please be a good neighbor and clear snow from the sidewalks in front of your house,” said Mayor Martin. “When sidewalks aren’t cleared, pedestrians, including children walking to school, are forced into the street, creating a dangerous situation.”
City ordinance states that snow is required to be removed within 12 hours after snow fall or freezing; or if such fall or freezing is in the nighttime, before 10:00 a.m. of the succeeding day. Any person who violates this section shall be fined $90 for each offense.

Mayor Martin continued, “And while you are outside shoveling, if you have a fire hydrant near your house, consider removing the snow from around the hydrant. This will greatly help the fire department in the event of an emergency and could save your life.”
