From RPM Raceway: With today’s high-tech go-karts ready to race at top speeds at a moment’s notice, it is hard to imagine a time where that innovation did not exist. To celebrate the long history of go-karting that has progressed in the United States, from downhill soap-box racing to modern electric karting, RPM Raceway, America’s ultimate all-electric indoor karting and entertainment destination, today announced that it is declaring Friday, September 14 as Go-Kart Day and is celebrating by giving away one free race to the first 25 guests who register to race from 12pm – 6 pm.
September 14 is a significant date as it marks the first ever public go-kart appearance in 1956, thanks to Art Ingles, better known as the “Father of Karting”. In recognition of the momentous introduction of go-karts to the world decades ago, all six RPM Raceway locations will celebrate Go-Kart Day at its locations in Jersey City, Farmingdale, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and recently opened venue in Stamford to honor the invention that evolved into today’s high-performance, all-electric, indoor karts capable of speeds up to 45 MPH found at RPM Raceway.
“We are excited to declare Go-Kart Day to support both technological developments and to foster our love for karting,” said Karen Davis-Farage, president and co-owner of RPM Raceway. “Since this under the radar milestone played a role in the innovative thinking needed to develop the high-performance go-karts at RPM Raceway, we thought it was fitting to celebrate with free races and to encourage racing lovers’ interest in go-karts and karting advancements.”
