Several roads around Stamford have been closed due to flooding, the Stamford Police Department said Friday morning.
Sgt. Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police Department said water is going down in the area of I-95, where flooding has impacted several roads.
"There's still a couple areas that are closed," Booth said, noting a disabled car under the railroad bridge. The operator tried to drive through water. "The water just got low enough to call a tow truck. Once it gets out, we're going to open up Elm Street [soon]."
As a result of the disabled vehicle, there is blockage on South State Street and Lafayette Street.
"It's a bit of an issue at this point," Booth said.
