SilverSource Receives $45,000 Grant from Noble Charitable Trust

Grant Will Help Seniors in Need with Housing Stability

STAMFORD, CT / June 28, 2021 — SilverSource received a $45,000 grant from the John H. & Ethel G. Noble Charitable Trust to support the organization’s Housing Stability program. The SilverSource Individual Assistance: Housing Stability program addresses the urgent needs of older adults who struggle financially, providing emergency financial assistance, budget counseling and case management to older residents facing loss of their home, utility shut off, or transitioning from homelessness to stable housing. This is the third grant provided by the Noble Charitable Trust to SilverSource.

“This program helps older adults maintain their livable, safe housing, and reduces the risk of homelessness due to financial insecurity,” said Kathleen Bordelon, CEO of SilverSource. “With the support of the Noble Trust, we are able to provide financial assistance for stable housing and aging in place to even more low-income older adults in our area.”

Preventing homelessness, helping older adults remain safely in their homes and moving seniors from homelessness to stable housing are just some of the services SilverSource provides. The organization also provides financial support for utilities, prescriptions, hearing aids, glasses, other uncovered medical costs, home delivered groceries, and moving expenses. Additionally, SilverSource provides cost-free transportation to and from medical appointments through its “Ride to Wellness” program.
