Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team Tops Podium

The Skyliners dominated the TerryConners Open, winning the Gold medal in all four categories.

From The Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team: The Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team dominated the Terry Conners Open, winning the Gold medal in all four categories it competed in this weekend. The Juvenile, Pre-Juvenile, Preliminary and Beginner lines all topped the podium with their first place finishes. The Pre-preliminary line (competing in the same category as Preliminary) took second place and the Intro line (competing in the Beginner category) took pewter in their debut competition.

Blosat. “The skaters work so hard, and to have this amazing result is a tribute to their
hours of dedication to the team. All the coaches and parents are extremely proud!”
Skyliners Juvenile – the 2016 national champions – performed their inspiring “Angels”
program to earn the Gold. Skyliners Pre-Juvenile enchanted the crowd with their Gold
medal-winning program set to music from “The Wiz.” Both Skyliners Preliminary and
Pre-Preliminary competed in a field of nine teams; Skyliners Preliminary earned Gold
with their fun “Wedding” program and Skyliners Pre-Preliminary stood next to them on
the podium with Silver for their entertaining “Spanish Dance” program. Skyliners
Beginner earned Gold with their lively “Hawaiian” themed program. And Skyliners Intro –
performing in their first competition of the season – earned Pewter with their “Shine Your
Way” program.

Meanwhile in Michigan, Skyliners’ qualifying lines – Junior, Novice and Intermediate – all
took the top spot at the Dr. Porter Synchro Classic, earning an unprecedented 3 Gold
medals at this popular Ann Arbor competition. Skyliners Senior took home bronze in a
highly competitive field. The team’s collective accomplishments at Porter and Terry
Conners are historic.

“We are enjoying a stellar season so far,” said Director of Synchronized Skating and
Head Coach Josh Babb. “Our most important events occur in early 2017 – Easterns,
Nationals and Internationals. The competition will continue to get tougher, and the skaters know there’s hard work ahead. We welcome the challenge!”
