Solutions Sought For Stamford's Wild Turkey Problem: Report
Wild turkeys are on the loose. Have you been attacked?

STAMFORD, CT — Wild turkeys are on the attack in the Newfield, Turn of River and other areas of Stamford, as residents complain that the scary birds have become more than just an annoyance, writes the Stamford Advocate.
Children have reported being nervous while waiting for the school bus because of the in flux of wild turkeys in the area, and some elderly residents say they fear leaving the house. Others have said they've also been chased while just jogging or walking down the street, according to the publication.
Stamford Rep. Steven Kolenberg, who has gotten an earful from constituents about the problem, plans to hold a Wildlife Forum in the near future to educate residents on how to co-exist with the creatures.

Rampaging wild turkeys is not a problem exclusive to southern Connecticut. The fowl have scared residents of some Massachusetts towns, such as Bedford.
Additionally, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also has a page on its website about the fowl, their history in the state and some of the regulations for dealing with them.
