Join the Stamford Art Association (SAA) as they begin to celebrate their 45th year of bringing art to the community. Their membership includes painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers and mixed media artists. The SAA artists in this exhibit are members selected to represent these genres: Don Axleroad, printmaking; Heidi Lewis Coleman, mixed media; Benice Horowitz, acrylic and watercolor painting; Christine Irvin, photography; Inna Linov oil and ink and Nadia Martinez, 3 dimensional work.

When SAA was established it was the first art organization to have a gallery and place for artists to congregate. Artists, both emerging and established, exhibiting with SAA have always had an opportunity to have a space in which their work is curated, judged and hung professionally. Exhibitors do not have to be members of SAA to participate in our shows and it attract artists locally, regionally and internationally.

Highlights for this year include:

· 8 exhibits (six juried, 2 solo)at the SAA Townhouse Gallery

o The 42nd Annual Student Show with over $2500 in awards given to high school artists from 12 Fairfield County schools,

o The 35th annual Faber Birren Color Award Show with national and international participants and a juror from the Whitney Museum

o A month long fund raiser for the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut with work created for the exhibit by Fairfield County artists with Alzheimer’s

· 5th year of “Art at the Ferguson”, a series of four ongoing exhibits at the Ferguson Library
