Stamford Artists Invited To Participate In The Piano Project

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Downtown Special Services District is calling all artists to submit designs for "The Piano Project, Art in Public Places in Stamford Downtown" for jury and possible sponsor selection and exhibit inclusion.
According to a news release, the project is an interactive sculpture exhibit, similar to the Cow Parade, Horsin' Around, Street Seats, Dinosaurs Rule, Art Shapes and Space Invasion, according to a news release. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Artists, through a juried selection process, will paint and decorate upright pianos that will be put in place for anyone to play throughout Stamford's downtown area June through August, and encourages participation from everyone.
The exhibit will once again engage the talent of the local and regional art community and captivate the imagination of young and old alike. At the conclusion of the exhibit, the pianos will be sold at auction with a portion of the proceeds donated to a charity.

Applications are due to the Stamford Downtown office by Feb. 16.
