Stamford Beaches Close Due To Heavy Rainfall

STAMFORD, CT — All Stamford beaches are closed for swimming Friday due to the amount of rain that has fallen over the last 24 hours, the city said in an announcement on Facebook Friday afternoon.

Lifeguards will be on duty at Cove Island Park’s East Beach and Quigley Beach preventing anyone from swimming; however, there will be no lifeguards on duty at Cummings Park Beach or West Beach due to access issues with the roads into the parks.

More updates are expected on the status of beaches for Saturday, the city said.
