Stamford Homeowner's Dog Warns Her Of House Fire: Report
The fire was reported early Monday morning on Long Ridge Road.

STAMFORD, CT — A poodle mix alerted their owner that the house was on fire early Monday, likely helping to save the woman's life, reports the Stamford Advocate.
The fire broke out at a home on Long Ridge Road at about 3:30 a.m., and the dog came upstairs to her bedroom and began barking, which woke her up.
She then saw the fire in the living room when she went downstairs to see what the dog had been barking about. Stamford firefighters were able to douse the blaze quickly, but not before the first floor of the home suffered damage.
