Stamford To Livestream 2020 Memorial Day Ceremony

City officials emphasized residents are not advised to try to attend the ceremony in person and continue social distancing.

STAMFORD, CT — The city of Stamford will livestream its Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May 24, allowing residents to observe the holiday safely from home. The event, which is scheduled to take place at 12 p.m., is intended to "honor the veterans who have paid the ultimate sacrifice," according to a statement from city officials.

The ceremony will take place at Veterans Park and will include an Honor Guard 21 Gun salute, flag detail, a wreath laying ceremony and remarks from Mayor David Martin. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Residents can view the livestream by visiting www.facebook.com/CityofStamford, selecting "videos" from the left-hand side and clicking "Memorial Day Ceremony" from "all videos."

The video will not be available until Sunday at 12 p.m. A Facebook account is not required to view the livestream, which residents can also view from their phone through the Facebook app.
