"This is disappointing for all of us, but the safety of the Gold Star Family Members, the veterans, and members of our community comes first," said Patricia Parry, Gold Star Mother of Navy SEAL Brian Bill, in the announcement. "We want to be sure the event provides the best opportunity for everyone to join together to honor and remember those men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and due to the weather, tomorrow is not that day."
Mark McGrath, Stamford's Director of Operations, Patriotic & Special Events, Stamford Transit District, and the WPCA Board, also expressed disappointment.
