Police said the man attempted to break into a local store before stealing items from a restaurant in Stamford.

STAMFORD, CT — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of breaking into a Stamford restaurant and stealing items. On Oct. 11 around 6 a.m., the suspect tried to break into the BevMax store on East Main Street by using a pry bar-type of tool to break the door's locks, police said on Facebook.
After failing to get into the store, the suspect was able to break into the El Charrito Restaurant down the street and steal some items, police said. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a blue baseball hat at the time of the incident.
The department posted a video of surveillance footage in which the suspect can be seen attempting to gain entry into both businesses.
