Stamford Public Schools Announces Elementary Admin. Changes

Three current elementary assistant principals will serve as assistant principals in different schools next year.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools (SPS) recently announced three elementary administrative changes, effective July 1, 2021.

As part of the districts ongoing effort to provide developmental opportunities for district leaders, anticipate future needs of the district and embrace its mission as a learning organization, three current elementary assistant principals will serve as assistant principals in different schools next year.

Springdale Elementary Assistant Principal Casey Cummings will move to Toquam Magnet Elementary School. Toquam Magnet Elementary Assistant Principal Sandra Ehlers will move to Roxbury Elementary School. Roxbury Elementary Assistant Principal Kenneth Childs will move to Springdale.

"The experience of working in a different school community and culture, with a new principal mentor is an opportunity for each of them to bring their strengths to a new team, experience new challenges and learn new approaches to leadership," said Associate Superintendent for Intervention and Student Support Dr. Michael Fernandes in a news release. "It is also an opportunity for our principals to learn and grow as building leaders."
