Stamford Recycling Center Now Open Every Friday
Beginning this week, the Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center in Stamford will now be open every Friday.
STAMFORD, CT — Mayor David Martin announced Thursday the Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center will add an additional day of operation and be open every Friday beginning this week.
According to a news release, this will update the recycling center's operational hours to Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"My budget proposal this year will fully restore service to the Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center as of July 1, but I am happy to work with our operations staff to immediately include this additional day of operations for our residents," Martin said in a news release. "Our residents rely on vital city services such as the recycling center and I am looking forward to restoring all of those services later this year."

Located at 130 Magee Avenue, the recycling center reduced its hours last year due to budget cuts made in response to the anticipated economic impact of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
In addition to the new hours, the city will host a bulk waste and recycling event at Scofield Town Yard, located at 55 Rockrimmon Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:

- Aug. 7
- Sept. 11
- Oct. 2
These events will provide residents an opportunity to dispose of yard waste, bulk waste, recyclables and electronics for free.
Residents can also use the Scale House, located at 101 Harborview Avenue, Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
