Stamford Resident, 50, Dies In Car Crash: Police
Police said a 50-year-old Stamford resident died after their vehicle struck a minivan in the area of the Grade A Shopping Center.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said a 50-year-old Stamford resident died Monday after their vehicle struck a minivan in the area of the Grade A Shopping Center on Hope Street.
In a news release, police said the resident was driving a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder SUV along the road around 3:30 p.m. The Nissan, which was traveling north, struck a 2020 Chrysler minivan after drifting into the northbound travel lane just south of the shopping center, police said.
According to police, the driver of the Nissan was unresponsive, and city fire crews performed life-saving measures until Stamford emergency medical services crews arrived, police said. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The driver was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital despite life-saving efforts performed by fire, EMS and hospital crews, police said. Police have not identified the driver yet.
The driver of the minivan, a 55-year-old Stamford resident, was taken to Stamford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
