Stamford Warming Centers Open Into January
Stamford has eight daytime warming centers throughout the city, and one overnight facility (emergency shelter).

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford's warming centers will remain open at least through Tuesday, Jan. 2, as frigid temperatures are expected to continue hovering over the area into next week, according to officials.
"Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that in anticipation of temperatures over the next several days that are forecast to be bitter cold with negative wind chill factors at times, he is activating the state’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol beginning today and remaining in effect through Tuesday, January 2, 2018," wrote Stamford officials in a statement earlier this week. "This is the first time so far this winter season that the protocol has been enacted."
