Stamford's Henry the Chihuahua Needs Your Help!

Officers at the Stamford Animal Care & Control Shelter are looking for donors to help alleviate the needed medical costs for a stray dog they found wandering along E. Main Street on Sunday, Nov. 13.

According to Director Laurie Hollywood, the shelter needs to come up with approximately $1,200 to $1,500 in medical costs for a small 10-year-old chihuahua they've named Henry.

Hollywood said Henry needs extensive dental work, isn't neutered, has a heart murmur and will need to undergo an electrocardiogram and X-rays to diagnose and correct the issue, including the possibility of surgery.

Outreach to Pets in Need is assisting with the costs of the procedures, but Hollywood said funding for expensive medical care for the animals they rescue is always an issue. Those interested in assisting the organization can donate here.
