 Stamford, CT – September 3, 2013 – “I’ve never met a fish
face I didn’t like”.  So says scuba diver
and underwater photographer, Pierrette Wagner, as she invites us to plunge into
undersea magic.  Her collection of sweeping
reef scenes and intimate sea life portraits are “bests” and “favorites”,
captured over 25 years of exploring the boundless spectacle that is our watery
world.  Rendered in frameless metal
prints, each image beams with intense color and immediacy that makes the viewer
feel like they are in the scene rather than looking at it.  The result is a series of evocative “moments”
in nature.  “Underwater photography is,
for me, less artistry than bearing witness to Nature’s miracles.  With each dive, I marvel anew at the colors
and textures of the sea, both the tiniest details and the panoramic splendor.”

Pierrette Wagner grew up
in Greenwich, CT on the shores of Long Island Sound and became interested in
diving during her college years.  She
became a resort diving instructor in the Cayman Islands after graduation and
what was meant to be a six-month postponement of the “real world” turned into a
four-year career as a professional diver.
She is no longer a dive professional and has never been a professional
photographer, but enjoys diving and travel whenever she can and credits the
thrill and surprises of photography for keeping her interest in diving.  She is an officer and long-time member of the
Loft Artists Association.
