STAMFORD, CT — Police announced on Tuesday that a third person has been taken into custody in relation to the homicide that occurred on May 18 on Ursula Place in Stamford's east side.

Deandre Parsons, 23, of Stamford, was captured by U.S. Marshals just outside Boston, Mass. in the early morning hours of July 1, according to Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department. Parsons is currently being held in Massachusetts "as a fugitive from justice," Conklin said, awaiting extradition to Stamford where he will be formally charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Two minors were arrested last month in this case, and they face the same charges as Parsons.

"Our investigators did a work-up on [Parsons] and we believed he was up there with an associate. We passed it on to our law enforcement partners in the U.S. Marshals, and they followed up on it and sure enough, within days, he was in custody," Conklin said. "It's just a matter of paperwork exchange and sending officers up to transport him back to Stamford at some point. Even though we have a warrant for him, he hasn't been officially charged yet."

Conklin praised the SPD and the U.S. Marshals for their investigation into Parsons.

"Our investigators did a great job on following this up and putting together a package for the U.S. Marshals," Conklin said. "They're our partners in law enforcement, and they're very adept and experienced in this. They did a really good job of taking this guy into custody up where we felt he'd be, within days of them beginning their investigation. All around, excellent work."

On May 18 at around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to 90 Ursula Place in Stamford on a report of a male shot inside of the home. The man was later identified as 32-year-old Lwidji Brun.

Upon arrival, officers located Brun who had multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Officers immediately initiated CPR, and EMS transported him to Stamford Hospital where he later died.

Conklin said the investigation into Brun's death remains ongoing.
