In our occasional series Visions for Vacancies we’ll look at vacant businesses and buildings in Stamford and surrounding areas to see what our readers want to see move into their community.

Today, we’re looking at 1551 Summer Street, right in the heart of Downtown Stamford. It sits directly next to a stand-alone TD bank, and is just around the corner from Stamford's thriving nightlife scene that stretches along Bedford St.

The building looks to be a former mechanic's shop, with three garage bays and an additional rear bay door, though the rear lot is a tight squeeze and currently all fenced off. There is already a large parking lot available on the grounds as well, a bonus for tight city parking.

Nearby businesses include Dental Care of Stamford, Maternal Fetal Care PC and Casey's Tavern, just down the block on Woodside Street.
