The Stamford Art Association will present "Welkom to Amsterdam
et Vienna" a two person exhibition of Gayle Gleckler and Tony Woolner’s
paintings and monoprints. In addition to being working artists, Gayle is a
brand and marketing executive, writer and film producer and Tony is an award
winning architect. They have worked and shared their artwork together for the
past 10 years in many shows throughout Connecticut and New York. They "travel
with a purpose" to photograph exotic locations and turn them into art.
Gayle's paintings and Tony's monoprints, using an
innovative monotype technique he developed, will be presented in this exhibit.
Additionally Gayle is featuring paintings which were inspired by the
pandemic,
The Stamford Art Association began in 1971 when 24 local artists created the Association and
Townhouse Gallery to showcase regional and community-based artists. We thank you
for your support over the years and your ongoing creativity, inspiration, and
impact. We look forward to celebrating our 50th year with more
community outreach, partnerships, and our gallery spaces' reopening, as well as
the inauguration of our garden art space.
The Stamford Art Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
organization whose members include painters, sculptors, printmakers,
photographers and multimedia artists. In its 50th year, our mission as an arts
organization is to provide a forum where emerging and professional artists can
exhibit their work to the community and compete in juried shows. We host an
international exhibit yearly, the Faber Birren Color Award Show, and a High
School Student Show for Fairfield County students. We also sponsor the ongoing
"Art at the Ferguson" art exhibits at the Ferguson Library gallery space.
The Stamford Art Association is supported by grants from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts,
the City of Stamford and the Kuriansky Foundation and generous donations from
individual artists and friends.
The SAA Townhouse Gallery will reopen every Thursday/Friday from 11 am to 3 pm and
Saturday/Sunday from Noon to 3 pm when the pandemic ends and until then all
exhibitions are virtual. Admission is
free.
