Winter Weather Advisory Now Issued For Stamford

The National Weather Service is warning drivers about a potentially tough commute tonight.

STAMFORD, CT — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for southern Fairfield and New Haven counties. The NWS is warning commuters to be prepared for a tough Friday evening commute as between one and three inches of snow are expected.

The advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Friday.

“Plan on snow covered roads, including during the evening commute. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected,” the NWS warned in its advisory.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan said, "Pretty sudden change to the forecast for Friday evening. Once again light and fluffy but will be a pain for the PM commute."

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said, "snow is the headline for later this afternoon and evening. Another Dusting to around 2" expected but the timing STINKS!"

Fox 61 Meteorologist Matt Scott said, "Our high resolution future radar is suggesting the ride home will have issues - snowy issues. 1-2" possible along the shoreline - I-95 Road Warriors take heed and give yourself some extra time!"
