25 Best Connecticut High Schools: U.S. News Rankings 2016

U.S. News and World Report ranks the best 25 Connecticut public high schools and shares their placement among nation's top 1,000.

U.S. News & World Report released its top public high schools list nationwide and 25 Connecticut high schools make the top 1,000 list.

A total of 21,000 public high schools across the country were ranked based on students performance on state assessments and graduation rates and how well prepared they were for college. For more on how U.S. News calculated its rankings, click here.

Nationwide, the top 5 list is:

  • #1 Schools for the Talented and Gifted, Texas
  • #2 BASIS Scottsdale, Arizona
  • #3 BASIS Tucson North, Arizona
  • #4 School of Science and Engineering, Texas
  • #5 Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia
