Animal Welfare Law Topic of Film Screening; Stonington Rep Speaks Afterward
Rep. Urban will speak at a film festival following "The Champion," the story of the pit bulls rescued from Michael Vick's dogfighting ring.

Rep. Diana Urban (D-Stonington) will participate in a question and answer session at the New Haven Documentary Film Festival this Sunday, June 5, following a film screening beginning at 7 p.m.
Rep. Urban will join state prosecutor Joseph LaMotta to discuss animal welfare law following the showing of the documentary “The Champions,” which follows the story of the pit bulls rescued from NFL quarterback Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring.
Rep. Urban will highlight Connecticut’s recent passage of ‘Desmond’s law,’ which provides greater resources for the prosecution of animal cruelty cases.
