Boston Marathon 2018: How Mystic Runners Fared
Hundreds of Connecticut residents were among the nearly 30,000 runners registered to run the world's oldest annual marathon Monday.

BOSTON, MA — Nearly 30,000 official entrants braved the elements and packed the starting line in Hopkinton, Mass. on Monday to compete in the Boston Marathon, the world's oldest annual marathon. They anticipated the challenge of completing the 26.2 mile course, including the dreaded "Heartbreak Hill" between the 20- and 21-mile marks, near Boston College.
They came from 94 countries and all 50 states, with hundreds of Connecticut residents participating.
In Mystic, Mathew Ridley, 27, finished 31st among Connecticut residents and 2,044th overall. His time was 3:01:29.

Stanley Mickus, 50, finished 36th among Connecticut residents and 2,314th overall. His time was 3:03:29.
Dana Dougherty, 29, finished 102nd among Connecticut residents and 6,910th overall. Her time was 3:26:22.

Jeffrey Anderson, 55, finished 164th among Connecticut residents and 11,105th overall. His time was 3:41:22.
Luke Beardslee, 33, finished 231st among Connecticut residents and 15,945th overall. His time was 4:00:24.
Pamela Schroeder, 50, finished 303rd among Connecticut residents and 22,042nd overall. Her time was 4:47:51.
Amby Burfoot, 71, finished 316th among Connecticut residents and 22,471st overall. His time was 4:53:22.
Gary Burfoot, 69, finished 318th among Connecticut residents and 22,483rd overall. His time was 4:53:27.
