Closure At Railroad Crossing In Stonington

An upcoming railroad crossing closure will address signal and safety equipment.

STONINGTON, CT — Per Amtrak - The railroad grade crossing at Palmer Street in Pawcatuck will be closed to through traffic at 6:00 AM on August 17th, 2020. The temporary closure is due to construction to install upgraded signal and safety equipment. During the closure, vehicle traffic will be detoured around the area via Mechanic Street and Lester Ave. Pedestrian traffic across the crossing will be permitted intermittently. It is anticipated the crossing will be reopened to traffic by Monday, August 31, 2020.
