Horticulturist Tovah Martin To Appear in Stonington May 9th
Learn tips from her new book - The Garden in Every Sense and Season
So much of gardening is driven by monthly checklists and daily upkeep. But what about taking the time to truly enjoy the garden? Horticulturist, author and lecturer Tovah Martin will share essays and tips from her new book The Garden in Every Sense and Season (Timber Press, May 2018) on Wednesday, May 9 at 11 am, La Grua Center, 32 Water Street, Stonington, CT.
Beginning with the heady blooms of spring and closing with putting the garden to bed in winter, Martin will explore the landscape through smell, sound, touch, and taste. Her sage garden advice and intimate reflections on her own garden will awaken the five senses. Instead of focusing on weeding, planting, and pruning …The Garden in Every Sense and Season urges gardeners to inhale, savor, and become more attuned with their own space.
In her constant, undying pursuit of all things garden-related, Martin gets her hands dirty both outside and indoors. She is a perennial, heirloom, vegetable and cottage gardener of fanatical proportions, and is accredited with NOFA as an Organic Land Care Professional.
