Laughter is the Breast Medicine, Artist Exhibit Opening, and Haunted History Tours Begin Tonight

  1. Weather Underground says today will likely be overcast with a chance of rain. High of 66F and tonight is supposed to be overcast with rain and fog overnight with a low of 52F.
  2. Thursday muni meetings: The Bd. of Police Commissioners meets at 5 p.m. at the Police Station; Bd. of Education meets at 7 p.m. at Stonington High School Commons; Economic Dev. Comm. meets at 7 p.m. in the Human Services Building; Old Mystic Fire District Bd. of Directors meets at 7:30 p.m. at 295 Cow Hill Road.
  3. Visit Studio M at 28 Cottrell Street and welcome glass artist Catherine Gibson with her new series of vitreous glass work themed after Herman Melville's "Moby Dick". Studio M is a proud to sponsor "In the Pink" 10% of sales on Oct 10th will be donated to L&M Cancer Center.
  4. Tonight is the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Seaside Shadows, Mystic’s newest walking tour. Meet at the Mystic River Park at 7 p.m. to join the inaugural tour, which will walk you through the Downtown Mystic area past favorite local haunts, not just for residents and visitors, but spirits alike.   5. Be sure to show up early and grab a seat to hear inspirational speaker Eileen Kaplan, author of “Laughter is the Breast Medicine” at The Pink Mermaid at 1 p.m. today. She has spoken with humor and heart on making the lifestyle changes necessary for coping with cancer.
