Man Charged In Mystic Attack Made Threatening Calls: Report
A man charged in a racist Mystic attack is now being accused of making threatening phone calls to the victim's attorney.
MYSTIC, CT — A New York man facing allegations of assaulting a Mystic hotel employee in a racially motivated incident has also been accused of threatening the victim's attorney, according to The Day. Philip Sarner, 39, of Brooklyn and his girlfriend, Emily Orbay, 27, are accused of of assaulting Crystal Caldwell, an employee at the Quality Inn, on June 26.
Sarner is now facing charges that he made multiple threatening calls to Caldwell's attorney, M. John Strafaci, The Day reported.
Sarner posted $75,000 bond on the initial charges of second-degree assault, third-degree assault, and intimidation based on bigotry or bias. He is expected to post $30,000 bond on a new charge of second-degree harassment related to the threatening phone calls.
