Mystic Aquarium Releases Seal Pups After Nursing Them Back to Health

The pups had been rescued this spring after being abandoned shortly after birth.

MYSTIC, CT – Mystic Aquarium released half a dozen harbor seal pups Tuesday after rehabilitating them at their facilities.

The aquarium had nursed the pups back to health after they were abandoned shortly after birth. The seals were released at Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown, R.I., according to a release.

The seals had been rescued in Maine this spring. They were kept in the aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic between April 25 and May 31.
