Mystic Bakery Adds Cocktail Bar, Doughnut Shop

Sift Bake Shop has added a rooftop deck bar and its owners have opened a new doughnut shop.

MYSTIC, CT — Sift Bake Shop has added Mix Rooftop & Bar and its owners have opened a new doughnut shop.

The bar offers "unique, handcrafted cocktails, and a creative, fresh bar menu" along with "panoramic views of the Mystic River."

Mix is open daily from 3 to 10 p.m. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. and last call is 9:30 p.m.

According to the bakery's website, Sift Bake Shop is a family owned and French focused bakery "specializing in artisanal breads, pastries, desserts, macarons, signature cakes, savory items and more."

Sift chef Adam Young has earned numerous accolades over the years, including being a finalist in Food Network's 2017 Spring Baking Competition, winning Food Network's 2018 Best Baker in America award, and being featured multiple times at the James Beard house.

The Young family has also opened Young Buns Doughnuts.

On their Facebook page, they said: "So here it is! Excited to officially announce that The Young Family of Sift Bake Shop are opening up a classic doughnut & coffee shop in beautiful Downtown Mystic, CT! Give a follow to Young Buns Doughnuts to learn more. YBD will offer fresh, handcrafted doughnuts daily from 7-3, and you bet there will be a “Young Bun” on the menu. We are hopeful to open by the end of this month. See you there!"
