Mystic Chamber Of Commerce Announces New Leader
Bruce Flax has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

MYSTIC, CT — Bruce Flax, a 26-year employee and Director at Foxwoods Resort Casino has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). Flax was voted into the position by the Chamber’s Board of Directors on Tuesday.
Flax brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from both public and private sectors. Most recently, Flax was the Director of Entertainment Marketing & Ticket Operations for Foxwoods Resort Casino managing the marketing campaigns for over 200 shows annually. Flax has been a Board Member for the GMCC and has also served as the Board’s Chairman. Flax has been serving as Interim Executive Director for the GMCC since December 2020. A former Councilor and Mayor for the Town of Groton, Flax’s enthusiasm for bringing people together and working towards a common goal are just some of the traits the GMCC Board admired in Flax’s application.

Flax takes over the Chamber at a time where Mystic businesses, as well as others around the country, are just coming out of the worst of COVID-19. Some businesses are thriving while others are still challenged by restrictions, economics, health and safety concerns.
