Mystic Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash
A man is dead following a motorcycle wreck Sunday.

MYSTIC, CT — A Mystic man died in a Route 2 motorcycle crash in Ledyard Sunday afternoon, according to police. The driver who died in the wreck was Cass Wolfenbarger, III, 58, of 22 Irving St.
According to police, the accident was reported at 1:40 p.m. Sunday. Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Wolfenbarger was transported from the scene by American Ambulance to Backus Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said an initial investigation showed that his 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on the Route 2 off ramp heading toward the intersection with Route 214. He lost control of the motorcycle and struck the cement jersey barrier.

Ledyard Police Department is asking for assistance from anyone who may have observed anything in that area last evening. Witnesses are asked to call (860) 464-6400 and speak with Sgt. Eric Bushor or Officer Ben Burbank. Calls can be kept confidential.
