How did you come up with the name?

It came from a type of tree, Beech, on the property and there is also a brook on the property.
Why start a business in this town?

It’s a central area in a state that has lots of horses and the founder of the horse rescue works at Pfizer.
What business are you in?
We are a horse rescue/sanctuary/shelter that also provides some equine related programs for at risk youth.
What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?
Having enough funds and volunteers has been the hardest challenge.
What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?
We have saved 111 horse and donkeys from slaughter and neglect since opening.
How does your business give back to the community?
We provide programs for at risk youth; participate in local events like the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival. We also partner with other nonprofits such as Eastern CT Community Gardens. We provide horse manure for them and other groups for their gardens.
