How did you come up with the name? We combined our initials, CM for Courtney Moore and MB for Maura Blaney, using the M as a shared middle initial.

Why start a business in this town? Mystic is a wonderful place to live and work, there are a multitude of clients from seasonal restaurants to vineyards. We both know the Mystic area well.

What business are you in? CMB Creative Group is a one-stop agency for all marketing and graphics design needs; from custom websites to assistance with radio scripts to creating an entire campaign.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? As small business owners, we find we often ‘wear many hats.’ Balancing between creativity and the day-to-day operations such as invoicing, quarterly taxes can be challenging.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening? We will be celebrating our tenth year in July of 2016 and are proud of the client base and friendships we have garnered in the greater Mystic area. A special moment of pride was receiving the Volunteers of the Year award in 2011 from the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

How does your business give back to the community? We work diligently with many non=profit organizations in the area, notable Center for Hospice Care; Mystic Arts Center; Mystic Blues Festival and Mystic River Mudhead Sailing Association.
