Nature Center Offers April Vacation Programs

The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center will make sure your kids spend their April vacation outside, learning and exploring! Register now for one or all of our half day programs! Programs are for ages 5-12, pre-registration is appreciated either online at www.dpnc.org/calendar or 860-536-1216.
The morning program changes each day; each afternoon we offer Afternoon Adventures free play at the Nature Center. We’ll spend the afternoon outside, hiking, exploring, playing games and fort building. We’ll even build our own campfire and roast marshmallows! Dress for the weather. 1-4pm, Mon-Fri., $21.25/member, $25/nonmember

Animals on the Move!
9am-1pm, Monday, April 18 $25.50/member, $30/nonmember
Animals don’t always stay in the same spot for their whole lives. Many birds and mammals migrate each spring and fall. Join us for a fun morning of animal antics. Learn, play nature games and create animal masks. Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch.

Art in Nature
9am-1pm, Tuesday, April 19 $25.50/member, $30/nonmember
Students will create works of art, inspired by nature, natural themes, and the environment! We’ll spend time outside gathering inspiration and materials, and return to the classroom to create our masterpieces. Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch.
Creepers and Leapers
9am-1pm, Wednesday, April 20 $25.50/member, $30/nonmember
Leaping lizards, slithering snakes, and jumping frogs! We’ll stay as active as a frog in the pond during this fun vacation day program. Play a lot of games, meet some of our local amphibians and reptiles, and go on an expedition to find as many frogs, toads and salamanders as we can! Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch.
Butterflies and Buzzing Bees
9am-1pm, Thursday, April 21 $25.50/member, $30/nonmember
Explore the meadows and count the colorful pollinators as they fly by! Learn about the special traits of butterflies, bees, and other insects through games, crafts and hands-on activities. Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch.

Eggs-travaganza
9am-1pm, Friday, April 22 $25.50/member, $30/nonmember
Spring time is an “eggs-cellent” time for learning about eggs! Birds are busy laying eggs in their nests...but they’re not the only ones! We’ll learn about all kinds of egg-laying animals, including fish, frogs, turtles, snakes, insects, and more. Games, crafts and fun! Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch.
