Olde Mistick Village Hosts 6th Annual Garlic Festival

The 6th annual Garlic Festival at Olde Mistick Village will take place this weekend and aside from all the great garlic samples and dishes and pure idolization of the onion's cousin, local farmers will have be on hand to serve up; honey, jam, preserves and syrups and there will be plenty of entertainment for all ages.

The festival is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Throughout the day and evening, dozens of local restaurants and food service establishments will be offering tastes, or serving for purchase delicious garlic related foods. A host of merchants, artisans, authors and artists will line the pathways of Olde Mistick Village displaying their foods, crafts, gifts and talents.

Along with more than 75 vendors, many of the 42 Olde Mistick Village merchants will be offering garlic related activities or products at their stores. 

There will be cooking demonstrations and family entertainment. Activities will include the Pequotsepos Nature Center's "Birds of Prey" program and My Dogs Place" obedience training show. Black Bear Martial Arts Center will demonstrate a variety of defense techniques.

Many local bands and musicians will play this weekend including Ken Atkins & The Honky T.K., Chris MacKay & The Tone Shifters, A2Z Acoustic Duo, Easybaby, James Harris, Ben Freiert, Craig Edwards, Sue Menhart Band, Phil Newland Duo, The Zingerz, Ms. Marci & The Love Sick Hounds, Munsell Brothers Band, Marcie Kelly Trio, Gary Everett & Friends, Ramblin Dan Stevens, Brian Merritt Trio, and Professor Harp Band.
