Online Ranking Lists Best Main Streets During Christmastime in Connecticut

Now that we are smack-dab in the middle of the holiday season, it’s time to trim the tree, hang up the outside lights and spice up that glass of eggnog.

At this festive time of the year, many families will set out to find ways to spend time together and ring in the holiday season, Given that this is also a season as infamous for the ringing of cash registers as it is bells (sorry, Clarence), a nice inexpensive way to enjoy something festive can be taking in a beautiful display of Christmas lights.

Luckily the website Only in Your State has compiled a list of the top nine main streets in Connecticut that are “pure magic.”

Ridgefield ranks no. 1 on the list, cited for the beautiful sights a visitor can encounter on their way to the playhouse or an art museum. Mystic is also cited at no. 3 on the list for its large town tree located near (or as the site describes it, “overlooking”) the Main Street.

New London County is further represented on the list by Niantic, with the annual Niantic Light Parade noted as a big holiday season highlight.
