Popular Mystic Restaurant Closing After 8 Years

The popular restaurant will be closing after eight years in business in Mystic.

MYSTIC, CT — After eight years of serving up classic American food and seafood for their loyal customers, the owners of the popular Mystic Boathouse restaurant on Coogan Boulevard announced they will be closing their doors for good Friday evening.

The restaurant's imminent closing was announced on the Mystic Boathouse Facebook page Monday afternoon.

"We are sad to announce that we will be closing our doors on Friday, June 29," the post said. "We are incredibly grateful for all of your support over the last eight years. Please stop in this week to make our last memories here the best ones!"

The page has since been flooded with pictures taken over the years of customers and employees enjoying themselves, along with a message that read "thank you for the memories! We hope to see you Friday for one last trip down memory lane."

The restaurant hosted a party Thursday night, complete with live music courtesy of the Marcy Kelly Trio.

According to the New London Day, co-owner Kaitlin Baker-Hewes did not comment on why the restaurant was closing, however she praised the loyal customers who had continually dined with them over the years.
