Prisoner Involved In Infamous Stonington Case Released
Russell Kirby, accused of kidnapping a Stonington teacher, was recently released from prison.
STONINGTON, CT — Russell Kirby, a handyman who formerly lived in Ledyard, has been released from prison after serving 18 years of a 21-year sentence for kidnapping a Stonington teacher, according to The Day. Kirby, now 82, was most recently serving time at Carl Robinson Correction Institute in Enfield.
Kirby was accused of assaulting and kidnapping Leslie Buck in 2002 from her 77 Masons Island Road home. She escaped shortly after the kidnapping, but later was found dead at her home, The Day reported.
