Smoke Detector at Stonington Retirement Home Disabled By Employee: Police

A StoneRidge retirement home employee was arrested after allegedly disabling a smoke detector.

A StoneRidge retirement community employer allegedly disabled the dining room’s smoke detector to prevent it from activating during cooking.

According to The Day, 31-year-old Joel Maikranz of Groton was arrested on a breach of peace charge.

An Old Mystic Fire Department lieutenant was reportedly told about the alleged disablement of the smoke detector.
