The soul of the writer is a balance of torture and pleasure. When it’s good it’s a nirvana one could only dream of. When it’s the bad, is when creativity dies and darkness breeds a certain depression that retards any growth or creative flow.

Do we write to write? Do we write for monetary value or an ego boost? Or do we write because it temporarily takes away the pain that life sadistically dispenses on us every day? And for what a euphoric pleasure that may last minutes to a hour?

The soul of the writer is an explorer that searches to find the correct word to attach to the correct phrase, which you hope drips off like honey from the mouth of those who speak. And absorbs like a sponge for those who see or listen. Does it matter that each sentence can’t paint poetic mental masterpiece? Or does it matter more we get straight to the point and like an audit you just want to get over it?

The power of the writer is not a sword or a shield but a pen and a notebook and cold ink is the blood that runs through the veins of a writer is stone cold ink. A writer is use to rejection and celebrates it as a religion. Such rejection is equivalent to a concussion shot to the jaw which would cripple an average person. The Soul of a writer has been trained to not shatter under stress and is self taught to be intolerant to pain. The soul of a writer is constantly being persecuting by those who are not on their frequency. Those people who are unable to create. Those people will bury your ideas and you in a cemetery which has no name. The soul of a writer is always mistaken as the diary of a madman or a tortured soul and in many ways the genius of a writer is not too far off.

A writer’s responsibility is to take the pain and harness it by recycling it into something that can stimulate the mind. To walk outside of the perimeters of the mind and locate oneself on a cosmic world that is not that of the current situation. A writer can play god and create or destroy characters and locations with the written word. The soul of the writer is far more powerful than anything in this universe.

What matters isn't the fame or people who follow the fame. What matters is the soul of the piece and of the person. One can argue success is found through money however money is as temporary as a cocaine binge. The soul is what matters and the words you use to create the world you build. Can writing change the world? Yes, however it’s the readers that are the ones that matter. What we put out there matters because like a hammer writing can either build or destroy. Empires and worlds have been lost due to improper use of the word. The soul of a writer offers hope in the darkest of times.
