Stonington Businesses Cited In Tobacco Compliance Check: Police

Several businesses were issued infractions for selling tobacco products to minors during a recent compliance check, according to police.

STONINGTON, CT — Police have released results from a recent compliance check of businesses selling tobacco products and/or electronic cigarettes. The inspections were done to determine compliance with state laws that prohibit selling to anyone under 21 years old.

Retailers are required by law to request photo ID for anyone under 30.

Police completed eight unannounced inspections and found that six establishments did not comply with state law. Those six businesses were:
