Stonington Historical Society To Hold Virtual 'Cannon Ball'

The Cannon Ball: A Virtual Blast
The Stonington Historical Society’s Annual Benefit will move indoors and online for its first Virtual Blast, The Cannon Ball, to be held on Saturday, June 27th at 7 pm. This fun, interactive experience will celebrate local history and the farmlands that have sustained the Stonington community for over 300 years. During this challenging time, the dress code for party goers is dressing up or down … in a tuxedo, ball gown or PJ’s in the comfort of their own home.

Guests will enjoy a lively show to include music, trivia, two $500 drawings, as well as a live and silent auction. “From an afternoon day sail on a Hinckley Sou’wester to a Block Island boat trip for 10; elegant dinner parties to cocktail receptions and a BBQ on the farm; plus lessons in fly fishing, art, wine, pastry, paddleboard, sailing and more ... there is something for everyone to bid on in our online auctions,” says Kathleen Snoddon, Cannon Ball Co-Chair.
The Cannon Ball tickets are available at levels of $50, $100 and $500 at thecannonball.givesmart.com Donors will receive a special Harvest To Home Basket, from local farms, filled with Cannon Ball wine, cheese and other goodies to enjoy during the Virtual Blast. Complimentary tickets are also available for online attendance and auction bidding.

The Cannon Ball proceeds will benefit the Stonington Historical Society, supporting its exhibitions, collections, educational and community programs, as well as the Captain Nathaniel B. Palmer House, Lighthouse Museum and Woolworth Research Library. Founded in 1895, the Society preserves, interprets and celebrates the history of Stonington, Connecticut.
