Stonington Improves Position In Boys Soccer Poll

The Bears were victorious in nine of their first 10 outings this season.

STONINGTON, CT — Despite collecting half the amount of first-place votes as NCCC rival Ellington, the Granby Memorial High School boys soccer team accumulated enough points from participating coaches to take over the top spot in the latest weekly Class M/S poll.

The Bears received four first-place votes while extending their season-opening winning streak to nine games, jumping from third to first in the balloting. Ellington garnered eight top votes to hold its spot in second position, while former No. 1 Lewis Mills dropped into a tie for third with Litchfield.

Stonington moved up one spot to sixth in the most recent balloting.
