Man Killed In Mystic Chainsaw Accident [UPDATE]

A 63-year-old man who died in a chainsaw accident has been identified.

MYSTIC, CT — A man died in a chainsaw accident in Mystic on Saturday, according to police. Alan McConnell, 63, of 87 Colman St. in New London, was cutting a tree down in a yard at 29 Rossie St. and injured his left leg.

Emergency responders received the call Saturday at 1:01 p.m. McConnell was found unresponsive by neighbors who had begun CPR before emergency crews arrived.

He was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.
